Finishing specs help keep your interior design project organized, accurate, and easy to reference. Here’s a step-by-step guide to adding finishing specifications—using flooring as an example.
1. Navigate to the Finish Category
From the left-hand menu, select the relevant finish category such as Flooring. This opens the list of finishes already added to your project and gives you access to create new ones.
2. Create a New Product
Click New Product to add a finishing spec. This opens the General Information form where all product details are stored.
3. Enter Core Product Details
Start with the basics:
- Name: Add a clear, descriptive name (e.g., Engineered Hardwood – Valley Walnut).
- Description: Briefly describe the finish, such as color, tone, or texture (e.g., deep warm brown hardwood).
These fields make it easy to identify the finish later and ensure clarity across teams.
4. Upload Supporting Documentation
Use the Product Manual upload area to attach specification sheets, installation guides, or care instructions. This keeps all technical details in one place.
5. Fill in Supplier & Specification Data
Complete additional fields to fully define the finish:
- Supplier and Manufacturer
- Unit of Measure (e.g., sq ft, box, piece)
- Quantity
- Product Link for quick reference
- Product Series and SKU for ordering accuracy
6. Add Timeline Information
If applicable, enter the Delivery Date and Install Date. This helps align finishes with your project schedule and avoids delays.
7. Save and Review
Click Save to add the finishing spec to your project. The product will now appear in your finish list, ready to be referenced, edited, or used in schedules and visuals.
