Overview
The Time Tracking page allows interior designers and their teams to log hours spent on projects in a clear, structured way. Tracked time can be used for internal reporting, workload visibility, and client invoicing, ensuring all billable and non-billable work is accurately captured.
This feature is ideal for tracking design development, meetings, procurement coordination, administration, and more—across individual designers or entire teams.
What This Page Does
On the Time Tracking page, you can:
- Track time by project, task type, and team member
- View total hours logged by day, week, or month
- Break down time by design activity category
- Record billable rates for invoicing
- Review historical time entries for reporting and approvals
Page Layout Explained
1. Overview Section
At the top of the page, you’ll see a visual overview of hours tracked for the selected time period.
Includes:
- Total Hours Tracked (displayed in a circular chart)
- A breakdown of time by task category, such as:
- Design Development
- Administrative
- Meetings
- Research & Mood Boards
- Project Management
- Email Correspondence
- Procurement & Coordination
- Internal Review
Each category shows:
- Percentage of total time
- Total hours and minutes logged
You can switch views using the Day / Week / Month toggle.
2. Time Period Navigation
Use the arrows beside the month name (e.g., January 2026) to move between months and review past or upcoming time entries.
3. Time Entries Table
Below the overview is a detailed list of all logged time entries for the selected period.
Each entry includes:
- Activity name
- Project
- Date
- Start time & end time
- Total time spent
- Task category
- Created by (team member)
- Assigned team member(s)
This table provides full transparency for team managers and billing review.
How to Track New Time
Step 1: Click Track Time
Select the + Track Time button in the top-right corner of the page.
Step 2: Enter Activity Details
In the Track New Activity panel, complete the following fields:
- Name of Activity
(Example: “Kitchen Concept Revisions”) - Select Project
Choose the project the time relates to - Task Category
(e.g., Design Development, Meeting, Administrative) - General Notes (optional)
Add context or details for internal records or invoicing
Step 3: Add Time Details
Under Time Tracking, enter:
- Date
- Start Time
- End Time
- Rate ($/hr) (optional, if billable)
The system automatically calculates the total time spent.
Step 4: Save the Entry
Once saved, the time entry will:
- Appear in the monthly list
- Update the overview charts
- Be available for reporting and invoicing
Best Practices for Design Teams
- Log time daily to ensure accuracy
- Use clear activity names for easier invoice descriptions
- Apply task categories consistently across the team
- Enter hourly rates for billable work to streamline invoicing
- Review monthly totals before client billing cycles
Time Tracking History
Overview
The Time Tracking History page shows a complete record of all time entries logged by your team. It’s used to review past timesheets, filter time by project or date, and export hours for invoicing or reporting.
This page is commonly referenced during billing and month-end reviews.
What You Can Do Here
- View all logged time entries
- Filter by project and date range
- Edit existing time entries
- Export time data to Excel
- Track hours across multiple team members
Using Filters
At the top of the page, use the filters to narrow results:
- Select a project
- Choose a start and end date
- Click Search to apply filters
- Use Clear (X) to reset
The selected date range is displayed above the results.
Reviewing Time Entries
Each entry shows:
- Activity name
- Project
- Date
- Start and end time
- Total time spent
- Task category
- Created by and assigned team members
Use the Actions column to edit or manage entries.
Exporting for Invoicing
Click Export to Excel to download the filtered time entries. This is typically used for client invoicing, accounting, or internal reporting.
Adding New Time
Click + Track Time to log a new time entry at any time.
